Opportunity Information:

Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist with an interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) to join our growing Gastroenterology team in San Francisco.

This is a growth opportunity within a collegial, physician-led multispecialty group affiliated with California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC). The position will initially consist of approximately 20–30% IBD and 70–80% general gastroenterology, with the opportunity to grow the IBD component over time based on patient demand and program development.


Opportunity Details

  • Practice a mix of IBD and general gastroenterology, with approximately 20–30% of the practice initially dedicated to IBD
  • Opportunity to expand the IBD practice over time and contribute to program development
  • Join an established team of 3 gastroenterologists and 1 advanced practice provider, including another physician with an IBD focus
  • Primary outpatient practice at the CPMC Van Ness Medical Office Building
  • Hospital practice primarily at CPMC Van Ness Campus, with occasional coverage at Mission Bernal Campus
  • Procedural practice at Golden Gate Endoscopy Center
  • Opportunity to participate in the ambulatory surgery center joint venture
  • Separate call team manages emergency department coverage; physicians provide select inpatient and transfer coverage
  • Access to an expansive multispecialty referral network

Quilifications:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Eligible for a California medical license
  • Interest and experience in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel disease
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to collaborative patient care

Preferred Qualification

  • iUSCAN Intestinal Ultrasound Training and Certification, or demonstrated interest in developing expertise in intestinal ultrasound for IBD care
