Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is seeking a full-time Board Eligible/Board Certified Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician to join our premier and innovative Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine team in San Francisco, California.
This is an exceptional opportunity to practice cutting-edge, high-acuity Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine within a leading tertiary and quaternary care system. Join a highly collaborative team providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pulmonary care while working across multiple specialized intensive care units within California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC).
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to care for complex and critically ill patients across the full spectrum of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine while participating in medical education, program development, and multidisciplinary initiatives. Opportunity Details
- Full-time Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine opportunity
- Practice across the entire spectrum of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
- Provide critical care coverage within CPMC intensive care units
- Work across specialized ICUs including MICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, and Transplant ICU (Liver, Kidney, and Pancreas)
- Collaborate with ICU Nurse Practitioners and Internal Medicine residents in the management of critically ill patients
- Provide inpatient pulmonary consultation services
- Maintain an outpatient pulmonary medicine practice
- Opportunity to pursue pulmonary subspecialty interests including Interstitial Lung Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, Lung Nodule Management, Cystic Fibrosis, and Sleep Medicine
- Practice in a brand-new, state-of-the-art Medical Office Building directly connected to an advanced tertiary care hospital
- Participate in teaching opportunities through the Internal Medicine Residency Program and Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship Program
- Leadership, program development, and career growth opportunities available

Clinical Focus
The physician will provide comprehensive care for patients with a broad range of pulmonary and critical care conditions, including:
- Acute respiratory failure and critical illness
- Sepsis and multi-organ dysfunction
- Complex medical intensive care conditions
- Interstitial lung disease
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Asthma and other obstructive lung diseases
- Lung nodules and pulmonary malignancies
- Cystic fibrosis and other chronic pulmonary disorders
- Sleep-related breathing disorders
- Pre- and post-transplant pulmonary management
Qualifications
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
- Eligible for unrestricted California medical licensure
- Current DEA registration
- Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based patient care
- Interest in working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in teaching residents and fellows preferred
- Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems preferred
