Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Interventional Pulmonologist to join our growing pulmonary and critical care team in San Francisco.

This position offers a unique opportunity to help build and expand a comprehensive Interventional Pulmonology program within an integrated, multidisciplinary care model. While this role provides the opportunity to grow Interventional Pulmonology services, candidates should expect to maintain a significant and active Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care practice.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the full spectrum of interventional pulmonology care, including advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, pleural disease management, and complex airway interventions. Physicians with interests in program development, teaching, research, and innovation are encouraged to apply.

Practice Highlights

  • Combination of Interventional Pulmonology, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care practice
  • Active inpatient and outpatient Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care responsibilities in addition to Interventional Pulmonology procedures
  • Opportunity to develop and grow a comprehensive Interventional Pulmonology program
  • Access to an advanced procedural platform, including:
    • Robotic navigational bronchoscopy
    • Cone-beam CT imaging
    • Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)
    • Bronchoscopic tumor ablation
    • Endobronchial valve therapy
    • Medical thoracoscopy
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration with Thoracic Surgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, and Hospital Medicine.  Physicians with interests in research, program development, teaching, innovation, and clinical scholarship are encouraged to apply
  • Fully integrated Epic EMR
  • Robust nursing and clinical support, with advanced practice providers integrated into the care team
  • Participation in quality improvement, program development, and clinical innovation initiatives
  • A "privademic" practice model combining physician-led clinical practice with teaching, research opportunities, and academic engagement

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Pulmonology with completion of an ACGME-accredited Interventional Pulmonology fellowship 
  • Eligible for unrestricted California medical licensure
  • DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (CSRC)
  • Additional certifications as required by the department
