Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire a BE/BC Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our dynamic team in Sacramento, CA.
Sutter Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes is a comprehensive, clinically focused, research driven, and rapidly evolving subspeciality program embedded within one of California's most respected integrated health systems. We provide state-of-the-art clinical care, robust diabetes and weight management services, and a growing pediatric endocrine research portfolio, all supported by strong operational infrastructure.
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our growing Sutter Medical Group pediatric subspecialty practice. Our ideal candidate brings a strong interest in advancing pediatric endocrine clinical research and contributing to innovative clinical care for children with complex endocrine disorders. Prior research experience is preferred but not required, and applicants with advanced research training—such as a PhD or MPH—are highly encouraged to apply, though these degrees are not mandatory. We are looking for a physician who values teamwork, clinical excellence, and a commitment to improving outcomes for pediatric patients across our diverse Northern California communities.
We have a robust research enterprise with several new system-wide research initiatives ongoing and are committed to supporting promising or established physician-investigators. Our practice offers the rigor and intellectual engagement of an academic environment combined with the stability, resources, and lifestyle advantages of a large, not for profit, physician-led medical group.

You will join a well-established, collegial, and collaborative multidisciplinary team, including:

  • 6 Pediatric Endocrinologists
  • 3 Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs) fully integrated into care delivery
  • 1 Dedicated Research Coordinator
  • 1 Area Manager and Research Manager
  • Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (CDCES)
  • Registered Dietitians
  • Embedded care coordination and population health support, including the Life@Sutter weight management program, PENS team (Pediatric Endocrine and Nutrition Services), and multidisciplinary diabetes team
The team emphasizes shared decision-making, Physician-APC dyad leadership, mutual respect, and long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

We are seeking a pediatric endocrinologist who is:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology
  • Clinically excellent and team-oriented
  • Interested in diabetes care, endocrine complexity, or program development
  • Curious, innovative, and aligned with a culture of continuous improvement
